Night (or day) at the Museum (#7)

Thanksgiving brought me to our nation’s capitol. Aside from the historic monuments, the powerful diplomacy, the controversial legislation and the secret service, Washington DC has a treasure: The Smithsonian Institute. 19 Museums filled with art and history and innovation, 9 research centers and the National Zoo. These museums are a national treasure and best of all, they’re FREE!

On our journey we found the Museum of Natural History. Inside is everything from a giant elephant to dinosaur bones,  an exhibition of the human skeleton to the Hope Diamond, giant whales to tiny insects. Even the 3 hours we spend inside the museum was not enough. I highly recommend this and all Smithsonian Museums if you ever find yourself in DC.
